You may be eligible for the study if you:

• Are 18 years or older

• Have been diagnosed with moderate-to-severe SLE for at least 6 months

• Are currently taking SLE medication

  You will continue your current lupus medication during the study. You will be randomly assigned –  selected by chance – to receive either the study drug or placebo (an inactive substance that looks like the drug being tested).
